Bio

The Beer Sommelier® provides beer consultation and education services to those in the beverage and restaurant industries, as well as those in the legal profession. I show restaurants, distributors and other hospitality groups, how to use gourmet craft beer to increase their bottom line, as well as the knowledge, familiarity and education thresholds of the owners, managers, employees, and customers. I am also a court-approved expert legal witness, specializing in craft beer - marketing, trademark disputes, consumer/demographic perceptions, trends and positions, industry trends and practices and much more. On the consumer side, though, I conduct beer tastings; in-home, corporate events, gatherings, parties, etc. It's a burgeoning, fun service, for which I foresee a huge market. While wine is a historic staple beverage, gourmet craft beer is overtaking it as professional America's leisure beverage of choice. Along with a fun afternoon/evening, tasting gourmet craft beer and bonding with friends/family/co-workers, clients receive a first-class education, about everything they sample. They learn about the specific styles they taste: their origins, flavors, aromas...and what foods with which they pair best. And best of all, they have so much fun, they don't even realize they're learning! All this, within the comfort and safety of their home. In the true manner of beer education, I instructed "From Grain to Glass, A Comprehensive Study of Beer" course at Emory University, but am now teaching said seminars on my own.
